Failure to comply with a certain distance between vehicles driving along
the same lane is one of the main reasons for traffic accidents in the world,
second only to speeding and to lack of attention. In order to prevent any
accidents, the Mont Blanc and Frèjus tunnel authorities (between Italy and
France) have decided to install a series of Autovelox 105 SE provided with
digital cameras, in order to automatically detect any speeding (max 70 km/h) and
tailgating (min 150 metres) violations.
